Privacy
What we count, and who sees a visit. Last updated 16 Oct 2026.
POS Ranked has no accounts, no sign-in and no forms that store what you type. We do not sell or share personal data. This page lists everything that happens when you open a page here.
Google Analytics
We count visits with Google Analytics 4: the pages you open, roughly where you are (country and region), your device and browser, and the site or search that sent you. It sets first-party cookies (named _ga) so a return visit counts as the same visitor. Google says Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses.
We also count two actions: a click on a link to another website (which page and section it came from, and where it went), and a finished website check (the grade and score it gave, not the address checked).
Counting starts when a page loads. The notice at the bottom of the screen tells you it happens; pressing Got it only hides the notice and does not switch counting on or off. To stop it on every site, use Google's opt-out add-on or block cookies for this site in your browser. Google's own use of the data is set out in its privacy policy.
Links to vendors
Links to a vendor's website go through /go/ on this site and carry tags (utm_source=posranked.com and the page you came from) so the vendor can see we sent the visit. None of them is a paid or referral link today; see the disclosure. Once you leave this site, the vendor's own privacy policy applies.
The restaurant website check
When you search for a restaurant on the website check, the letters you type are passed through a service provider to Google's Places service to list matching restaurants and find the one you pick. We do not keep the search.
When you check a website, our server reads that restaurant's public pages and keeps the report for ten minutes, so a shared link opens quickly. The address checked is part of the page link (?site=), so it is counted as part of the page you opened. We keep nothing else.
Hosting, fonts and videos
Cloudflare serves and protects the site, so it handles each request, including your IP address, to deliver the page and stop abuse. It may add its own cookieless visit counter. The typefaces are served from this site, so no font request goes to Google.
Some vendor pages show a vendor's video from YouTube (its privacy-enhanced mode) or Vimeo (with do-not-track set). The video player loads from that service, which sees the request and may set cookies when you play it, under its own privacy policy.
Stored in your browser
That you dismissed the notice, so it does not show again. Nothing else.
